It is crucial to understand the target market users deeply; therefore, we developed a collection of proto-personas representing different user segments based on demographics, online shopping habits, satisfaction with the current checkout process, the likelihood of using the One-Click Checkout feature, expectations, concerns, and feedback. These personas serve as representative profiles that provide insights into the diverse needs and preferences of Shopee users, guiding the design and implementation of the feature to meet their specific requirements effectively.

  • Potential Cart Abandonment Savings: Implementing a one-click checkout process could save a significant percentage of cart abandonment for all competitors, ranging from 30% to 55%.

Based on the analysis, Shopee Singapore and its competitors can benefit from implementing a one-click checkout process to address the high cart abandon rates and improve user experience. Therefore, Shopee should focus on integrating this feature while ensuring security measures like secure payment gateways and SSL encryption. Combining user research, iterative design, and usability testing, we successfully implemented the one-click checkout feature on Shopee's platform. This case study highlights the process and methodologies to create a seamless and user-centric checkout experience, addressing user pain points and boosting conversion rates.

The final design simplifies the checkout process, aligns with Shopee's brand identity, and fulfills user expectations.
